Material that decompose through natural process are known as biodegradable waste eg vegetable stuffs, leftover food etc
Material that do not decompose through natural process and take very lon time is known as non biodegradabe waste eg are plastic bag,plastic bucket etc

Biodegradable waste - The waste which can be broken down into its constituent elements by the action of microorganisms. For eg. kitchen waste
Non-biodegradable waste - The waste which cannon be brought down by the action of microorganisms and cause pollutions. For eg. polythene.
