1. Define sentence?
A sentence is the biggest unit of a language, it gives form to a language. we come to know about a language in the form of sentences. A sentence is a combination of subject and predicate which makes complete sense.
2. Examples of sentences ?
- I go to school
- Manu is my friend
- Girls are singing.
- The children go to school.
- The boys play cricket.
3. Explain kinds of sentences ?
There are five kinds of sentence :-
- Assertive sentence
- Interrogative sentence
- Imperative sentence
- Exclamatory sentence
- Optative sentence
4. Explain its kinds ?
:- An assertive sentence states something ,it may be of the following types :-
a. Affirmative :- An affirmative sentence makes an affirmative statement.
- I drink milk
- His father is a doctor.
b. Negative sentence :- A negative sentence makes a negative statement.
- I do not drink milk.
- His father is not a doctor.
:- An interrogative sentence asks a question.
- do I drink milk?
- Is his father a doctor?
Note :- An interrogative sentence ends with a mark of interrogation (?).
:- An imperative sentence express an order and advice or some respect.

Define Sentence:-
- A sentence is the largest unit of any language. In English, it begins with a capital letter and ends with a full-stop, or a question mark, or an exclamation mark.
- The sentence is generally defined as a word or a group of words that expresses a thorough idea by giving a statement/order, or asking a question, or exclaiming.
Example of sentences:-
- Robert was a good king.
- He had a great army.
- He wanted to bring peace to his kingdom.
- There were many others who wanted to become king.
- They started plotting against him.
- Their plots were failing because of some trusted friends of the king.
- Then they started killing those trusted friends.

Declarative Sentence:-
A declarative or assertive sentence states a fact, opinion or idea. Most sentences are declarative. A declarative sentence is followed by a period (.).
Example:-
- He sold chocolates to the members of the club.
- No, I do not like to swim in the beach.
Exclamatory Sentence:-
An exclamatory sentence expresses strong feeling. The exclamatory sentence always ends with an exclamation point.
Exàmple:-
- That sounds incredible!
- I can’t believe that you didn’t turn up to the party!
Imperative Sentence:-
An imperative sentence gives a command or a request. Imperative sentences do not have a subject as you is the implied subject. The imperative sentence is usually followed by a period (.). Very strong commands may be followed by an exclamation point (!).
Example:-
- Do not yell at me!
- Kindly take the seat next to the door.
- Dare not you repeat the mistake.
Interrogative Sentence:-
An interrogative sentence asks a question. An interrogative sentence is followed by a question mark (?).
Example:-
- Have you ever seen a purple butterfly?
- Would you like to play with the boys at the next door?
Optative Sentence:-
The sentence which expresses a prayer, keen wish, curse etc. is called an optative sentence. This kind of sentence generally starts with ‘may’ and ‘wish’. Sometimes, ‘may’ remains hidden.
Examples:-
- May the king of Westeros live long!
- Long live the king of Westeros.
- May you two live long enough to see your grandchildren!
- May God bless us all.
- May you become successful enough to buy love!
