In First Angle Projection we place our object in the First Quadrant (see above figure). This means that the Vertical Plane is behind the object and the Horizontal Plane is underneath the object. In Third Angle Projection the Object is placed in the Third Quadran

Answer: The angle at which an observer draw an object to convert it from 3D to 2D plane such as real object image to a plane paper is known as angle of projection. There are two angle of projection used in drawing:

1st angle of projection(first quadrant of coordinate plane)

3rd angle of projection(3rd quadrant of coordinate plane)

Explanation: In first angle of projection the vertical plane is behind the object whereas the horizontal plane is underneath the object. And in third angle of projection the vertical plane is in front of the object and horizontal plane is above the object. So we called the vertical plane in 1st angle non transparent whereas in 3rd angle we called it transparent.
