There is fast growing trend for sending children to nurseries by time they are 3 year olds or earlier.  

Its a new trend in bygone times where children hardly sent to school before they was 5 years olds.

Nursery isn't stage for imparting formal education though luckily some good nurseries had come up with true conception of pre-school education.  

Talking with Indian perspective in view I can remark that many of our nurseries start schooling at stage rather preparing our kids in nice way for future schooling.
