Darwin's theory. In 1859, Charles Darwin set out his theory of evolution by natural selection as an explanation for adaptation and speciation. He defined natural selection as the "principle by which each slight variation [of a trait], if useful, is preserved".

It is considered the theory of the survival of the fittest. By the experiments it has been proved that the elimination of one species for their not well adaptation also eliminates the genes present in them for which once a species is eliminated due to problems in its survival slowly that entire species can eliminate if they do not get adapted with the nature and the changing environment.
