Hess law states that if a reaction takes place in several steps then its standatd reaction enthalpy is sum of standard.enthalpes of intermediate reactions in which overall reaction is divided

Hess's law states that for any chemical or physical process with identical final and initial reaction condition, the energy change is independent of the pathway and number of steps require to complete the reaction.
