Ignition is the temperature at which a substance start catches fire easily, whereas the calorific value is the amount of heat produced by burning any substance.

Definition of ignition temperature.
: the lowest temperature at which a combustible substance when heated (as in a bath of molten metal) takes fire in air and continues to burn — called also autogenous ignition temperature; compare fire point.
calorific value :
Calorific valueis amount of heat energy released during complete combustion og 1kg of fuel.It is expressed in kilo joule/kg (kj/kg)
