Kharif crops, Rabi crops, Zaid crops are the cropping patterns.

1. Rabi crops - This crops are sown in winter from October to December and are harvested in summer from April to June. Examples:- Wheat, Barley.

2. Kharif crops - This crops are grown with the outset of monsoon in different parts of the country in September-October. Important crops of this season are Paddy, Maize, Jowar.

3. Zaid crops - This is a short crop growing season between rabi and kharif season during summer months. Examples:- Watermelon, Muskmelon, Cucumber, vegetables, and fodder crops are zaid crops.
