Newton’s first law states that, if a body is at rest or moving at a constant speed in a straight line, it will remain at rest or keep moving in a straight line at constant speed unless it is acted upon by a force.

Examples:-

⭕️A book lying on the table remains at rest as long as no net force acts on it.

⭕️A moving object does not stop moving by itself.

⭕️A rolling ball on rough surface or ground stops earlier than on the smooth surface because rough surfaces offer more friction than a smooth surface. If there would no force to oppose then the motion of a body than the moving body would never stop.
