Involuntary actions in hollow tube especially Oesophagus is called peristaltic movement.

It happens to push the food forward in the digestive tract.

it is a type of movement through which the food is passes through oesophagus which is a long tubular structure having a highly muscular wall



in simple way , Peristalsis movement is a process of reaching the Chewed food through osophegus !!!!
