The theory of plate tectonics was developed in 1960 according to theory the lithosphere of earth divided into some major and several minor plates. These plates are floating over mantle and there margins(plate boundaries) are associated with earth's sesmic activity and geolocial evolution of earth.
Major plates are-
1.) North America plate
2.) South America plate
3.) Africa plate
4.) Indo-Australia plate
5.) Pacific plate
6.) Eurasia plate
7.) Antarctica plate
