Orientation, in the sense that i am thinking of, is the way in which particles or molecules collide when undergoing a chemical reaction. According to the collision theory, particles need a favorable orientation of collision to undergo reaction (i.e the need to hit at the right angle of atoms to re arrange themselves properly). i could be wrong though if the term is used in another context.
