Definition of rounding up and rounding down in math

Rounding up means that if the given number's last or any digit is greater than 5 or equal to 5 then the number is greater than the given number

For example - 1285 if we take 5 in that number then the number next to the 5 is plus 1 in that number that becomes 1290 which is nearest to the given number.

On the other hand we see rounding down it is just opposite of rounding up . We do plus one in the number next to the given digit of the number but in rounding down we minus 1 in the number next to the given digit of the number .

For example 1234 in this we take 3 it is less than 5 so we minus 1 from the number next to the 3 that is 2 so the number we get is 1134 .
