Standard Time

Standard Time is defined as the time which is selected for all the clocks in a particular region or a country .

Explanation :

⚫ A meridian is chosen in a country which passes close to the centre of the country .

⚫ The Meridian is termed as Standard Meridian .

⚫ Then the time for that Meridian is chosen and it is decided to be followed throughout the country .

⚫ This time is called the Standard Time .

⚫ The meridian that is chosen is a longitude .

A place lying in the same longitude has the same time .

⚫ There is a difference of 4 minutes for every longitude and hence a difference for 24 hours for 360 longitudes .

standard time is a time which is a common time selected for a whole country

the standard meridian of our country passes through the uttar pradesh ,mirzapur

Standard time is based on the 24 time zones. All clocks in a time zone are set to standard time. For example, Pittsburgh and New York City are in the Eastern Time Zone. If it is 1:15 pm in one city, it is 1:15 pm in the other.
