A rational number is a number that is of the form p/q where p and q are integers and q is not equal to 0. The set of rational numbers is denoted by Q.

Explaination-:

Draw a line and mark point 0 at the center. Set off units to the right and left of 0 as they are equidistant.

Mark the rational number 1/2 between 0 and 1.

So is the case with -1/2 and place it between 0 and -1.
