Work Done = Force X Displacement

w = f X s

Where,

f = Force Applied

s = Displacement

w = fs \cosθ \:  \:  \\ (Extended  \: Learning)

1 J = 1 N X 1 m

1J = 1Nm

When a force of 1 N (newton) acts on a body and the displacement of the body is 1m (metre) in the direction of the force applied then the work done by the force is said to be 1 J (joule).
