we all know , Electric field inside conductor is equal to zero . for this reason we used to protect fragile material form the influence of External electric filed by surrounding of hollow spherical conductor . this hollow spherical conductor is named as "Farady Cage " , this process is known as " Electrostatic shielding".

• The phenomena of making a region free from any electric field is called electrostatic shielding.

• It is based on the fact that electric field vanishes inside the cavity of a Hallow conductor.
