Degradation of human values in our society

Human values are deteriorating because we, the humans have forgotten the essence of life. Why do we use the term ‘Values’ with humans not with animals? The answer is these values make the humans superior to the other animals. But the irony is that we think that the vitality of life is to acquire more and more materialistic paraphernalia. We often come across the news like someone killed a person for some meager amount. Such incidents occur on account of our lack of comprehension of the ultimate goal of life.
Why is there a need to teach the moral ethics and professional values to the professional students like engineering, management and architecture? Because our education equips us how to acquire wealth and success but it never makes us understand the value of life and other humans.
Hence there’s no dearth of successful professionals but there’re only a very few people equipped with humanity.
