Following are the degrees of comparison:
POSITIVE -in this type a comparison is made between two things or two groups usually using the words-'as(adjective) as'
Example - no other fruit tastes as good as a mango.
Example - i scored as good as he did
COMPARATIVE - comparison is made between two things usually using the word '(adjective) than'
Example - no other fruit tastes better than a mango
Example - he did not score better than me
SUPERLATIVE - comparison is made between one thing and a group of other things and that one thing is said to be the best.
Example - the mango tastes the best of all fruits.
Note - when comparison is made only between two entities, it cannit be changed to superlative, like the sentence - 'he did not score better than me'.
