Ethanol can be dehydrated to produce ethane and this dehydration can done by the heating of concentrated sulphuric acid at 170 degree C.
Concentrated phosphoric or V acid and H3PO4 can be used for such process.
The equation of this dehydration is given below: Here the acids are serve as catalysts and you can also write it as conc H2SO4 on the top of the arrow.
