Revolutionary Freedom Fighters
While Mahatma Gandhi and the Indian National Congress
were leading the freedom movement there were others
who used arms and bombs to fight against the British. They
were the revolutionary freedom fighters
Bhagat Singh was bom in a village in Punjab in 1907. When
he saw Lala Lajpat Rai die at the hands of the British he
was very upset. He wanted to shoot the British police officer
who killed Lajpat Rai, but he accidentally killed another
officer instead. He raised the slogan Inquilab Zindabad
Long live the Revolution. Later on, Bhagat Singh along
with two other revolutionaries, Sukhdev and Rajguru, threw
a bomb at a British office building. Although no one was
injured, the three of them were hanged by the British for
what they had done.
