the difference arises due to continantality factor. since mumbai is close to sea so its temperature is low when compared to delhi.
also their average temperature is almost same during october. this is because in this month the withdrawl of monsoon takes place from india. because of retreating monsoon winds the temperature is almost similar-neither too hot nor too cold.
