Dear Diary,
A Christmas miracle. That is what I received today. A small one, yet still a miracle. My family pulled through for me today. Christmas actually felt special. The first in a long time. For the first time in my life there was no arguments, no ungratefulness and I even received thoughtful gifts.
You see my family usually would walk into the nearest bargain store, grab the cheapest stuff they could find and then on Christmas Eve they would wrap them and then just throw names on any gift. But this year, I actually got stuff I wanted and needed. Whether that was by happy accident or my family generally took time and thought about it who knows. It will forever be a mystery.
Even the Christmas dinner was on point. But to be honest my mum has never failed me there.
With boxing day rolling in, I sit and think to myself how luckily I actually am to have a family at all. And think I am even more lucky to have a family who are finally trying to make an effort with me. Better late than never. Especially since moving into my own place. They have been doing everything they can to give me a helping hand.
Honestly I feel that since moving out and spending less time together we have all never been closer.
