The demerits of democracy may include the following: Making the wrong choice at elections and the elected leader is only interested in vote bank politics (corruption) ... Candidates spend a lot on voters to influence them to vote for their party.
DEMERITS OF CONSTITUTION....
One thing that immediately comes to my mind is, as we have seen with multiple issues, things need to be continuously defined and even revised. For example, originally the constitution affirmed the rights and liberties of the people, but those rights didn’t extend to slaves or women. Further down the line, amendments were written to extend those rights to those people and others. There was also an amendment banning the sale and such of alcohol, which caused a massive crime wave. That amendment had to be repealed.
Those are the negatives that are immediately apparent to me, as well we continue to have debates about how far those rights extend as well as the limitations of those rights.
