yes it is true that the democracy are not appearing to be very successful in reducing the economic inequality

1) although the rich are growing richer large majority of the people are very poor and find it difficult to meet even the basic necessities like food court and and shelter
2) a large number of them are living in the slum and camps where their living condition are very bad
3) the number of unemployment youth has been increase day by day even the educated ones are finding it difficult to get a job
4) corruption is prevalent in every field and the poor unable to get any facilities since they are not able to pay a bribe money to the person with authorities

thus we can say that the poverty has not been reduced in India and the gap between the rich and poor is increasing every day

as per the census done between 2011 and 2013

1) 70 percentage of people used in the village
2) out of this 75% families in the village earns less than rupees 5000 per month
3) it means that 63crore people's lives in the village out of 120 population of whole country both (cities and villages ) are poor
