Yes it is true that democracies have had greater success in setting free and fair elections. The corrupt practices in elections have reduced to a much greater extent. The voting machines are now electronic and attempts have been made by the governments to keep the vote of an individual secret. Attempts on secrecy of votes have been made so that people and political parties do not influence and force a voter to vote for a party. More laws have been enforced. So, we can say that democracies have been successful in conducting free and free elections, however, more attempts must be made as disturbances and problems still exist in the voting system.
