1) in a democracy mistakes cannot remain hidden for long. 2) there is always a space for public discussions on such mistakes and there is a chance for correction. 3) either the ruler have to change their decision or the ruler can be changed. thus democacy allows us to correct its own mistake..

So, if the citizens choose a representative that do not reflect their interesting in the parliament, then, in the next election, they can choose another representative, hence, correcting their mistake.
