While democracy allows the electorate the freedom to chose and replace their own rulers; this exercise could be redundant if either electorate hasn't awakened to their mistakes or the alternatives are birds of the same feather.

Plato’s criticism of democracy remains valid.The masses are easily swayed by rhetoric or freebies and as such will inevitably bring a tyrant to power.

The only way a democratic republic could function properly is through voter education.
