The vision of democracy given by the French revolution all over the world also plays the very significant role in uplifting the social status of women who were always considered inferior to men due to dominant patriarchy

After the long conflicts and struggles by women, the democratic government has conferred the honor and equal treatment by mitigating the differences based on gender.

In many democracies, women were denied of their right to vote for a long time which they have accomplished now and in the country like India 1/3rd of seats have been safeguarded for women in local bodies. Democracy also established the claims of the disadvantaged and segregated classes for equal status and opportunity.
