However, Zimbabwe seems to be an exception in this case, as this country has been known to be a democratic country since its independence in 1980 from the Europeans.
Its president was Robert Mugabe since independence, who was also the leader of ZANU-PF party.
But it is known that he adopted unfair means for winning the general elections held regularly.
Moreover, he brought changes in the constitution to empower himself with more legal authorities, while making all opposition activities illegal.
