The statement is completely relevant in case of a democratic government due to the following reasons
1. Democracy is the government OF the people FOR the people and BY the people .so the citizens of a country have full right to choose their representatives and change them if they do not function accordingly.
2. Democracy promotes EQUALITY and JUSTICE among citizens .these are the main pillars of any democracy.in a democratic country all citizens are equal before the law.same rules and laws hold for all ,even the president therefore all citizens get an equal status which prevents any sort of discrimination on any basis
3. It enhances the dignity of an individual .people enjoy many rights and freedoms .they can choose and profess any religion they all have complete right to criticise the government for its actions
4. It provide better quality decisions as decisions are taken after long debate and discussion and after mutual consent of all .
5. It also provides a room for corrections of mistakes
