Democracy is the form of government which is for the people and by the people. The government is elected by the votes of the people.

Political equality is the right to participate in the politics of the country by every person without discrimination of social and economic standing. Political equality is important in order to promote the concept of democracy because it promotes the basic concept of federalism(division of power in all groups)

However, despite political equality, a citizen of a democracy has other rights as well. They are:

(i) Right to Public Property.

(ii) Right to Vote.

(iii) Right to Religious Freedom.

(iv) Right to Social Freedom.

(v) Right to Freedom of Expression/ Freedom of Thought.
