Democracy means the form of government in which the represtatives is elected by the people and the whole power is in the hands of the citizens .
Republic is the form of government in which the country is considered as a public matter and not a private properties of rulers .

A democratic republic is a form of government operating on principles adopted from a republic and a democracy. Rather than being a cross between two entirely separate systems, democratic republics may function on principles shared by both republics and democracies.
