Take 2 potted plant ( one small & other large , the small one should fit in large one with max space left )

After putting the smaller one in larger one :-

Put the plant in empty area around , no water in soil.

Add some water in smaller pot .

Observation :-

Roots start growing in direction of small pot & not in other direction .

Conclusion :-

Hydro tropism.
