Ans -1 Mixtures of solids may be separated by differing solubilities of the solids. Components of a solution composed of a non-volatile solid solute and a liquid solvent can be separated by distillation. Mixtures of liquids with reasonably different boiling points can also be separated by distillation.

Ans -2 Husk or dirt particles can be separated by winnowing method. It is used to separate the heavier and lighter components of a mixture by wind or by blowing air. As the mixture falls down, lighter husk is taken away by blowing air and the heavier grain seeds fall down to make a heap.
