Deneisha is trying a new cookie recipe. She wants to see if the amount of baking powder she uses will make the cookies rise more. She makes three batches of cookies and changes the amount of baking powder for each batch. What is the independent variable in the experiment ?

The independent variable in this experiment is the baking powder.

Baking powder or Sodium HydrogenCarbonate releases C02 during the heating process which eventually makes the bread dough rise. So when she add more baking powder the bread doughs will rise higher and add less baking powder the bread dough will rise lower
