denominator of number is 3 less than its numerator if 5 added to the numerator it becomes twice the denominator find the fraction

Let numerator be ‘x’
Then denominator is x+3
2x+6=x+5
X= -1

Let the number be a

Denominator = a - 3

Fraction = a /(a-3)

According to question,

a + 5 = 2(a - 3)

=> a + 5 = 2a - 6

=> a = 11

Fraction = 11 / (11-3)

= 11 / 8
