Mercury has 13.6 gm per cc. 
MKS units are in meter, kilo and second 
one meter = 100 cm 
on meter cube will be = 100*100*100= 10^6 
The weight of Mercury will be 
13.6* 19^6 gms= 13.6*10^6/10^3 kgs per meter cube 
13.6 * 10^3 kg/meter^3. This is the density.
