Formula of density is Mass / Volume

so, Dimension of density would be M / L3

Mass in CGS unit is taken in Gram

Volume in CGS unit is taken in Centimetre

Mass in MKS unit is taken in Kilogram

Volume in MKS unit is taken in Metre

Let X be the corresponding value in MKS unit

so , X  Kilogram / Metre3   = 0.5 Gram / Centimetre3

or,  X (1000 gram ) / (100 centimetre)3   = 0.5 Gram / Centimetre3      ( 1 kg = 1000 gram  and 1 m = 100 centimetre)

so, cancelling out the gram and centimetre on both the sides, finally we are left with -

X 1000 / (100)3 = 0.5

or, 1000 X / 1000000 = 0.5

X = 500
