0.5 g/cm^3
= 0.5 * (10^-3 kg) / cm^3 ……[∵ 1kg = 10^3 g]
= 0.5 * 10^-3 kg / (10^-2 m)^3 ……[∵ 1 m = 10^2 cm]
= 0.5 * 10^-3 kg / (10^-6 m^3)
= 0.5 * 10^3 kg/m^3
= 500 kg/m^3

"The corresponding value of 0.5\quad { g }/{ cm }^{ 3 } in MKS units is 500\quad { kg }/{ m }^{ 3 }

Given:

Density of wood =\quad 0.5\quad { g }/{ cm }^{ 3 }

Solution:

\Rightarrow \quad 0.5\quad \times \quad \frac { \left( 10^{ -3 }{ k }g \right) }{ { cm }^{ 3 } } \quad \left[ \because \quad 1{ kg }\quad =\quad 10^{ 3 }{ g } \right] (to convert in to Kg)

\Rightarrow \quad 0.5\quad \times \quad \frac { 10^{ -3 }\quad { kg } }{ \left( 10^{ -2 }\quad { m } \right) ^{ 3 } } \quad \left[ \because \quad 1\quad { m }\quad =\quad 10^{ 2 }\quad { cm } \right]

\Rightarrow \quad 0.5\quad \times \quad \frac { 10^{ -3 }\quad { kg } }{ \left( 10^{ -6 }\quad { m }^{ 3 } \right) }

\Rightarrow \quad 0.5\quad \times \quad 10^{ 3 }\quad \frac { kg }{ { m }^{ 3 } } \Rightarrow \quad 500\quad \frac { kg }{ { m }^{ 3 } } "
