Depending upon the geographical factors and level of technology used, farming can be practiced in different methods across the world.

It includes not only the cultivation of crops but also the different innovations and technology for it.

Different types of farming practiced in different regions of the world

Nomadic Herding is practiced in Northern Africa, parts of Arabia, and parts of Northern Eurasia.

This type of farming is predicated upon the rearing of animals on natural pastures.

Shifting Cultivation is also known as subsistence farming, where a plot of land has been cultivated for a few years until the crop yield declines due to soil exhaustion and the effects of pests and weeds.

It is practiced by tribes of tropical Africa, tropical South and Central America, and southeast Asia.

Intensive Subsistence Agriculture

This type of farming is employed in various regions like- Tonking Delta (Vietnam), lower Menem (Thailand); lower Irrawaddy (Myanmar); and therefore the Ganga-Brahmaputra Delta, Eastern Coastal Plains (India).

Commercial Dairy Farming, used in Denmark and Sweden and they have witnessed the maximum development of this type of farming.

Commercial Grain Cultivation

It is practiced in the Eurasian steppes in regions of chernozem soil, Canadian and American Prairies, the Pampas of Argentina, the Veld of South Africa, the Australian Downs, and the Canterbury Plain of New Zealand.

Mixed Farming

This type of agricultural system is found in the highly developed parts of the world: north-western Europe, eastern North America, Russia, Ukraine, and the temperate latitudes of parts of the southern continents.
