The writer creates the humour in the story through various situations and mainly through the use of language which brings out the humorous situations more clearly. The tone is satirical, which makes the whole story very entertaining. The whole scene of the hunting ground and the exchange of dialogue between Louisa Mebbin and Mrs.Packletide are most humorous and bring out the situation very well.
It was amused to see how villagers manipulate the situation to their advantage. Then the killing of the goat by the bullets and the death of the Tiger due to heart attack are quite amusing.
Miss Mebbin's protective 'elder Sister attitude' towards money and her "morbid dread of performing, even a bit more than she was paid for" add a pleasant twist to the humour.
At the end, when Mrs.Packletide mentions about the incidental expenses of big-game shooting being too much, we are also left with a message given in humours manner.
