It is important to acknowledge the variety of roles they have played to gain a better understanding of the relationship of women to war. In United States history, women were especially involved in the two wars fought exclusively on American soil: the American Revolutionary War for Independence and the Civil War.

The wall originally listed 57,939 names when it was dedicated in 1982; however other names have since been added and as of May 2018 there were 58,320 names, including eight women. The number of names on the wall is different than the official number of U.S. Vietnam War deaths, which is 58,220 as of May 2018.

1...they make ho chi Minh trail again and again..
2...they load heavy snipers on their shoulders....
3...and after the war also women used to go in factories and work on Agricultural fields...
