Answer :

Ozone depletion refers to the slow and steady decline of the ozone concentration in the earth's atmospheredecline of the ozone concentration in the earth's atmosphere. The ozone layer absorbs most of the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun and prevents them from reaching the Earth's surface, but due to the decrease in the concentration of ozone in air the harmful ultraviolet rays can enter the earth's lower atmosphere which can cause skin cancer, sunburn and it can also increase the earth's temperature leading to global warming.

More Information

Chlorofluorocarbons ( CFCs ) used in aersol spray, refrigerators, air conditioners cause the depletion of the ozone layer in the atmosphere.
