Answer:

a)Salts obtained from sea water or mined in the form of rock salt contain many impurities. The large crystals of salts so obtained are generally appears brown in colour because of impurities. These impurities are refined by many processes to obtain pure common salt (sodium chloride).

b) Sodium chloride

c)It is typically formed by the evaporation of salty water (such as sea water) which contains dissolved Na+ and Cl- ions.One finds rock salt deposits ringing dry lake beds, inland marginal seas, and enclosed bays and estuaries in arid regions of the world.
