Role of Deputy Commissioner. The Deputy Commissioner is the Chief Revenue Officer as District Collector and is responsible for collection of Revenue and other Govt. dues recoverable as arrears of Land Revenue. He deals with the Natural Calamities like draught, unseasonal rains, hailstorms, floods and fire etc
functions To act as Collector under Section 6 read with Section 76 of DLR Act, 1954 and
Section 3(6) of DLR Act.
2. To act as Collector under section 105(1)(a) of Punjab Tenancy Act, 1887 and
under Section 27(1)(a) of Punjab Tenancy Act.
3. To act as collector under section 14(a) of Uttar Pradesh Land Revenue Act, 1901.
4. Powers to refund to renew stamps within a period not exceeding two years.
5. Collector of stamps under Indian Stamps Act, 1889.
