Time Ascent is defined as the time taken by the body to reach maximum height .
Derivation:

If we consider a body thrown vertically up with initial velocity u. Let its final velocity be V through a height h in time t. If g is the acceleration due to gravity then
Equations of motions for body project upwards will be :
V=u-gt
h=ut-1/2gt²
V²-U²= -2gh
at maximum height V=0,
hence equation 1 will become.
0=u-gt
u=gt
t=u/g
Hence time of ascent is t=u/g
