we know

$a = \frac{(v - u)}{t}$

substitute the value of a in the second law's equation.

ie.

$f = \frac{m(v - u)}{t}$

take' t' to the LHS

$f t = m(v - u)$

expand the RHS side.

$f t = mv -m u$
