Derive a formula for max.height reached by a body for a vertically projected body ?

Heya,

Let the initial velocity of the body be u.

At the highest point, its velocity will be 0.

and acceleration during the course of motion = -g.

Hence, applying second law of motion

(V)² - (u)² = 2as

=> 0 - = -2gh

=> h = /2g

Hence, the expression of maximum height is

 \frac{ {u}^{2} }{2g}
