derive expression for the total resistance of a circuit in which a few register connect in parallel.

Answer:

For parallel current (I) is different and voltage(V) is same.

SO, BY OHM'S LAW

V= IR

I = V/R

I1 = V/R1

I2 = V/R2

I3 = V/R3

V/R = V/R1 + V/R2 + V/R3

TAKING V COMMON FROM R.H.S

WE GET,

V/R = V [1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3]

THEREFORE WE GET,

1/R = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3

resistance in parallel
